SNOW DAYS

We have had a wonderful snowy weekend so far and it's only Sunday morning! I hardly know what to do with myself! We spend every other Sunday morning getting ready for church but church was canceled today so it's kind of throwing me off. :-)
We were supposed to have our childbirth classes in Nashville yesterday but when I called as soon as I woke up yesterday morning the message said they were canceled - just as we suspected. We were a little disappointed but we'll be able to reschedule in a couple of weekends. Since I was already up I thought I would go to work with Corey. I got all my gear ready to bundle up (coveralls, carhart jacket, muck boots, gloves, ear warmer, etc.) and here's what I did.........
I stayed in the truck and took pictures while he walked the snowy fields checking cows! Oh well, at least I was able to enjoy the beautiful white landscapes around the farm. hehe!

We spent the rest of the day doing projects around the house, going to the grocery (we couldn't stay put), watching part of a movie, eating chili for lunch (my favorite snow day food) and enjoying having a whole Saturday together with no plans! It was a real treat. Last night we had dinner at Cracker Barrell with Mom and Dad who also couldn't stay put. :-)

Today Mom is cooking lunch and then tonight we are going to BG for Chad's late Birthday dinner...at least we have the important stuff all planned out for today!!!

I hope you all have enjoyed a wonderful snowy weekend!

28 weeks!

Natalie reminded me yesterday that I haven't posted a blog since LAST YEAR so I promised I would update everyone after our doctors appointment today.
I am 28 weeks this week and as you can see, looking VERY PREGNANT. WOW! This picture actually shocked me and I look at myself in the mirror everyday.

Our doctors visit this morning was pretty uneventful except for when I about broke the scales when I jumped on! Holy cow - I'm hoping the weight gain really starts tapering off from here on out. They measured Sydney and she's right on track. A month ago they were thinking she was on the large side but things were all normal this time. My doctor asked me how I had been feeling and I told her pretty good except that my feet were hurting and swelling quite a big and my upper back was aching a lot in the afternoons and night. Her sympathetic response was, "well, sounds like you're feeling pregnant...alright, anything else?" ha! We'll start going back for checkups every 2 weeks for the next couple of months.

We have our childbirth "weekend" this weekend at Baptist. We're looking forward to this and will hopefully learn lots of useful information over the course of the weekend.

We are slowly but surely making progress in the nursery. Our furniture still isn't all here but thankfully we did get the crib and Corey spent 2 evenings fighting with it. He managed to sucessfully get it together though despite some terrible directions. We also have the changing table and dresser so we're just waiting on the chest. We also ordered the rocker/glider/recliner which we're thrilled about and the handpainted wooden letters of her name. That should all be here hopefully within the next month! Mom and Dad gave us our bedding as an early gift and we love it so much. I have to walk in there at least once a day to look at it and the curtains to match are in the works.

Pretty much it's 24/7 baby talk around the Konow house and we're loving and enjoying every minute of it as we count down the days!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
