Downtown Dance Party

We went to a dance party on the square Friday night....AKA: the concert on the square!  And if you weren't there...you missed a whole lotta booty shakin from these two girls!

We met up with friends Kacie and Ceclila, Jamie, Nat and Jackson, Will, Meghann, Carter and Grayson & Mandy, Taylor and Ragen.  It was a hot, sticky, sweaty blast, for sure!!!
Cecilia hasn't been too sure of wild and crazy Sydney in the past but I think they definitely hit it off this time.  Nothing like a little music and dancing to make ya have fun together!

And when everybody else was takin a break....Sydney did a little solo groove.  She was in overdrive all night, y'all!  Shew wee!!!

Carter had her belly laughing all night long too.  She LOVES her some older boys.  Uh oh!!!

Nothing like a fun summer night with friends on the downtown square!

Pool Guests'

We spent a fun filled day at the Gent's house on Thursday hanging with Jackie on her day off.  It was sooo nice having the pool our to ourselves.

Of course, Jackson, Aunt Nat and Grandma were there too!  Sydney and Jackson are water babies for life, I'm afraid!!! :)

Sydney loves to jump/fall in and they both could care less if you dunk them!  So....you have to have your hands and eyes on them at all times!!!

We are so glad that Jackie wanted to spend her day off with us!!!  We love her sooooo much and had a wonderful day!

Corn fed

In my little world, it's not summer time until you've got fresh sweet corn and home grown (or Amish grown, ha!) tomatoes!  Well guess what, it's officially "summatime" around here.
So far, I'm the only one enjoying the tomatoes (man, I love them soooooo much) but we're ALL loving the fresh corn.  Thanks Uncle Chad for the extra planting hassle. :)
"Yum, Yum" as Sis says!

OK, so this was a little posed.  She didn't REALLY eat the whole ear of corn....she just sucked on the cob after her Daddy ate the corn.  But she DID enjoy it! :)

Bubbles, Bubbles

One of Sydney's favorite books goes something like this...
Bubbles, Bubbles on my (Sydney's) nose,
Bubbles, Bubbles on Sydney's toes,
ok, that's enough but you get the picture.  She loves the book about bubbles so we thought we'd try the REAL thing.
We happened upon the perfect bottle of bubbles while browsing through Babies R Us the other night and she fell instantly in LOVE.  Wonder Why??  Yeah, she kissed and hugged the bottle and entertained herself during our whole shopping trip.

So, we go home and try the bubbles and she freaked and kept reaching for the container, saying "bubbles".  Ahhh....she cares NOTHING about the bubbles it's the bottle with Elmo on it, AKA: Bubbles, that she is so interested in.

I called Corey to the bathroom and we tried to play around with her and show her how fun the bubbles were...she maybe had a tiny bit of fun but that was it!

So, our little girlie, girl isn't much of a bubble bath lover.  Maybe she'll come around.  Or maybe we'll just let her occupy herself with the bottle of Elmo's face!  Whatever works, right?!?!

Her 2nd 4th :)

Wow....all I can say is I'm ready for the weekend....oh, wait, we just had one...I think?!?!
(I wrote this on  Tuesday...took me 3 days to get these pics downloaded. ugh!)

This 4th of July weekend was jam packed with BIG family fun, and when I say "big family" I'm not exaggerating...

Grandma planned a big Burr Family reunuion this weekend and we had people coming out of the woodwork!  Lots of them we knew...and lots of them we didn't.  We had family there from Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Ohio and Kentucky.  We started the weekend out meeting some of the Louisiana cousins for dinner at Cracker Barrel.  Then on Saturday all of the "younger" generation cousins met for lunch at Sol Az.  Then to the pool we went...Cook Farms Country Club, that is!

Later that night we had a massive cookout at Grandad and Grandmas with people everywhere!  It would have been a good time EXCEPT someone was pretty cranky the WHOLE time!  Sydney just wasn't herself all weekend...something mean and not-so-sweet came and possessed my child...a new tooth!!!  Bless her!  She did ok for a while but we had to cut out early and the socializing for me non-existant!  This was the night we dressed the cousins in the matching 4th of July outfits that I bought them at the Red Bird.  Only problem was...we almost waited to late for the little "tooth monster" to cooperate. :)

The next day we took the reunuion to Sulphur Spring and the Burr Family definitely won the biggest family award! ha!  After that it was off to Grandmamas for lunch a feast.  Sydney still wasn't quite herself but I decided to drag her along with me on the "farm hayride" anyway....bad mistake considering Daddy wasn't there to help, it was 100+ degrees and all she wanted to do was try and climb out the back of the pickup truck.  Needless to say...our "tour" was cut short, we got a ride back to the house and headed home.  After an attempted nap, we spent the rest of the evening riding with Daddy while he planted beans.

And then Monday came along....the actual 4th of July.  I can just hear Sydney now, if my mama puts me in one more red, white and blue outfit this weekend I'm just gonna scream!!!  ha!  Thank goodness she didn't say that because my response would have been get over it, girlfriend!, One more to go...

We spent Monday evening at Papoo's with Corey's family and several other people.  Sydney had a blast playing outside with the toys Debbie got for her to play with.  She threw water balloons, hoola-hooped, played in the bubbles, layed in the hammock and ran after her cousins ALL NIGHT.  Believe it or not, we saw our first fireworks of the weekend too (my family just doesn't get into fireworks...mom says she'd rather light a $100 bill, ha!).  Sydney wasn't scared at all, in fact, I think she could have cared less.  She laid back and yawned most of the time.  :)

Now, after reading all that aren't you ready for the weekend too?!?!
