Didn't I just do this like 2 days ago for her 4 month post? Wow! Before long she'll be 5 years so we're trying to enjoy every minute of this little girls life. She makes the "enjoying" part pretty easy on us too!! She has done SOOO much this month and I can't wait to share...
For starters, I have no idea how much she weighs since we only go to the doctor every 2 months but she is definitely "filling out" more and more every day, as Grandma says. I am lovin the rolls too! So sweet!
She is still in the same size as last month. She's wearing 3-6 month clothes, which we hope will get us through the warm weather because all of her 6-9 month stuff is for fall/winter. She's in 2 diapers still but I worry every time I buy a new pack that we'll never make it through the box in this size. She still is breastfeeding exclusively which is still working wonderfully for both of us but our doctor tells us that solid foods are right around the corner.

Speaking of eating, Miss Sydney is now equipped to eat just about anything with her 2 NEW TEETH! AAAHHHHH! I could barely believe my eyes (or finger) when I found the first one last week, and the second one came 2 days later. They are her bottom center teeth and they keep popping out a little more everyday. I just don't think I'm ready for teeth! I guess it shocked me so much because she didn't go through an awful teething phase like the ones you hear horror stories about. Looking back I guess I can see a sign or two but we got lucky with these two.
(It took her 5 months to realize there was a giant bunny in her pics...ha!)
About 3 weeks ago we decided that it was time for some night time changes. No more swaddle and no more pack and play...and man was that rough! Needless to say, Corey and I have been in the guest room sleeping for the past 3+ weeks. Sydney is now sleeping in her room in her crib at night and I think she's finally starting to get used to it. We're sleeping in the guest room because it's MUCH closer for me to get up at night to pat her bottom or feed her. The first week she was waking up 5-6 times a night but she's getting better and will hopefully be back to her normal "sleeping through the night" soon. We'll probably move back to our bed before long but for now it is pretty darn comfy and I LOVE being so close to her.
(This is how I find her most mornings - rolled over talking to herself and happy)
She's doing a whole lotta playing these days and having a ball! She spends lots of time on her play gym - the little mat in the floor with toys hanging off of it. She loves grabbing the toys and trying to get them in her mouth. She still loves laying on a quilt in the floor with toys all around her, too. She's content for a long time as long as she has toys close by AND someone watching her - she keeps a check to make sure someone is close. She doesn't want to be by herself, that's for sure. :) We'll turn on cartoons every now and then and they occupy her for a little while so I can get some stuff done but the cartoons are REDICULOUS. I'm pretty sure I heard "you suck", "loser" and "stupid" all in one sitting the other day on a cartoon. What is up with that??? Oh my...I have got to invest in some more Baby Einstein DVD's for sure! We also broke out her Exersaucer this month and she likes that for a little while at a time. I think it wears her out because you're supposed to be able to sit up on your own before you can use it and she's just not quite there yet but she is still amazed at all of the stuff she can play with on there. With all of this said about the toys I must admit that my red hairdryer is still her FAVORITE thing to watch. She absolutely loves it. I'm pretty sure she never blinks for the 10 minutes I spend drying my hair in the mornings.

This girl is jabbering like crazy these days and laughing all of the time! I feel guilty saying this but her first word, that we can recognize, was mama. She says it over and over and over. It's like music to my ears but I was really hoping dada would come first just so Corey could have bragging rights. Oh well, I'm sure Dada will be coming any day....we are definitely practing a lot!
Bathtime has become a little more exciting these days - she's learned how to splash. So...long gone are the days of me getting ready and then giving her a bath unless I plan on getting wet! :) We take her bath every morning pretty soon after she gets up and she enjoys every minute of it. Then we wrap her up in her towel, pick our her clothes and lotion up from head to toe. We have the best time getting ready in the mornings and she's always talking, laughing and in the best mood!

One of her biggest accomplishments came just a couple of nights ago (9.19.10) when she rolled over from her back to her front all by herself. Her Daddy has been working with her EVERY night on this and we were so thankful that we were both there for the big event. :) We were both so afraid she'd do it for the first time when one of us wasn't there. Funny thing was, we both got so excited after she did it that she looked up at us, rolled out her bottom lip and started screaming...we scared her to death! We felt so bad and hope we didn't scar her for life because we really want her to do it again! ha!

I've been busy planning a Birthday party for Grandma and a big wedding this month so I've had lots of help from everyone with Sydney. Papoo, Debbie, Aunt Valerie, Katelyn, Grandma, Grandad, Aunt Nat Nat, Uncle Jamie, Aunt Shirley, and Mary Thomas have all had their turns and I am SOOOOO grateful for each one of you! She even stayed with a babysitter for the first time without Mama and Daddy there but thank goodness the babysitter was Cousin Katelyn or I don't know if I would have made it through the evening. I bugged Katelyn every hour I think. :)
Also this month we found out that Sydney was going to have a little boy cousin, Jackson Lain, and we are getting excited about that. We can't wait to meet him in February.
What a month, little girl! It's been absolutely wonderful and a dream come true to experience all of these new things with you. You've brought more smiles to our faces than we ever thought were possible and we love you more than you could ever imagine!
Love always, Daddy and Mama
