MAMA'S DAY

This was my second Mother's Day with my baby girl....one of my favorite days of the year!...
And my 27th with my own precious mother....she's absolutely the best Mom ever!

We started the morning off with Daddy's weekly Sunday morning cinnamon rolls and then I got a present....a kindle!  Yay!  I absolutely LOVE it....only problem is, I still haven't found time to even take it out of the box! :)  I'm holding out for some one-on-one time with the kindle at the beach this summer...fingers crossed!

We got ready for church and had a very uncooperative photo shoot! :)

Church was extra special because Baby Jackson's baby dedication was during the church service...he was a sweet boy during the whole thing!  Sydney's baby dedication was last Father's Day and she didn't get a Bible from the church so she got her's during the service too.  It saved us during church...she wanted to play with it the whole time.  :)

After church we had lunch with the fam at 440 Main in BG.  It was a yummy mother's day brunch and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

After we got home (and Syd took an extra long nap), Corey, Sydney and I spent a little time  together.  First we went to the cemetery where Nano is buried and Sydney and Daddy left a pink flower for her.
We spent the rest of the afternoon outside riding on the Ranger.  Look who wanted to drive the whole time...

It was an EXTRA fabulous day overall.....lots of time with my two babies and my Mama.....perfect Mother's Day #2 for me!!!

wedding day getaway

Sam and Ashley (Corey's first cousin) got married on May 7th in Nashville and Corey and I made plans to go and enjoy ourselves (and Papoo even got us a room for the night)!  Yipee....Union Station is one of my favorite hotels to stay in.

But before all of the nightly festivities here's what the day was like...
Grandma was going to keep Sydney and for the first time in like her whole life, woke up with a terrible stomach bug and couldn't leave her bedroom.  Poor Grandma!  Oh my....but I didn't find out any of this until other arrangements were already made for Sydney.  Aunt Nat and Mary Thomas to the rescue.  They had THIS covered!!!

Anyway....all the while they're telling me the plans for the day I'm not feeling too hot either!  Oh dear, tell me I don't have what Mom has!  I chalk it up to stressin over Sydney and being paranoid and continue getting ready.

We take Sydney to Aunt Nat's and she's happy as can be.....of course, because her favorite little boy is there!  Corey and I head off to Nashville to get checked in before the wedding and then we ride with Papoo and Debbie to the wedding....stomach ache worse than earlier....check!

We meet up with the other "Konows" looking all beautified at the wedding and then we head back to the hotel/reception site after the wedding.

Long story short....I ended up having to go back to the room twice during the reception before I said my goodbyes very early in the evening!  So sad! :(  I told Corey I would be ok just staying there but REALLY I just wanted my bed.  So as bad, bad, bad, as we hated to we loaded up and left the party, the family and THE HOTEL ROOM AT UNION STATION (sigh) behind and went home.

And of course we had to make a stop on the way home to pick up the baby girl! :)  Since we were coming home...she was too!  Oh my...what a day!

Curlz

Oh my...I'm stressin because I'm getting majorly backed up on my posts....and I keep taking pictures!  Aaahhh!  This one I took like 3 weeks ago but I LOVE it.....

My baby has got some curls going on.  We never thought this day would come that she actually had an itty, bitty bit of hair.  Of course they flatten out as soon as she sits back in her carseat....but they're precious while they last!

If you've seen her lately too, you've seen that we have done away with the headband and the bows are in her hair now.  Of course, I spend about 25% of my life puting it back in because it's fallen out but oh well!

At this rate she's definitely gonna have to have a haircut by at least kindergarden, after all....don't ya think?

PS....y'all should have seen her trying to watch me take a picture of the back of your head.  Not fun...but you know her and wanting to see what's going on!!!

All Day Long

Sydney had a large time all day long last Saturday (4.30.11)!  It was a beautiful day so after lunch Sydney and I broke out the wagon outside.  Of course it was too sunny outside to go without our sunglasses.

We had our fingers crossed that Daddy was gonna make it home for some afternoon fun with us.  So.....after about 750 trips up and down the driveway Daddy finally made it home!!  Yay!  Sydney was about to get tired of the wagon ride!  ha!

The three of us had a big ole time on here mini swing set playing.  She went from the slide, to the swing, to crawling on the ground, and then repeated this pattern for about an hour.  She couldn't get enough of it.
And the child is NOT SCARED to just walk/roll straight off the top.....I know this for a fact!  We had to be ready at all times!

Her favorite part was playing peek-a-boo with Daddy under the slide.

Usually all good things must come to an end but the fun wasn't over yet...........we did have to go in and take a quick nap but when naptime was over we were off to party with Connor for his 6th birthday Hollywood Style!  Connor had a friends and family birthday party and we were honored to be included in the fun.

Sydney probably would pick bouncing on the blow-up's with Grandad and sliding down them with Andrew vs. Disneyworld anyday.  ha!!  She had a ball!  That swingset in the backyard ain't got nothing on Hollywood Grill's fun room!

The birthday boy (Connor), his brother (Andrew) and all of the otherkids were her 2nd favorite part of the night.  We thought her neck was gonna break...she kept her eyes on them at all times and thought they were all hillarious.

We spent a FUN night with lots of our closest friends and family celebrating our precious buddy, Connor.  What a great way to end a fabulous day!!!  Oh yeah....Jackson had to have a "bounce" too. :)

1 year check up

So...I'm a little behind.  Guess the 1-year excitement took me a little longer to recover than I thought...nah, we've just been busy and every time I try to sit down at the computer Sydney either comes and pulls up on the desk and tries to push the buttons on the keyboard OR drags EVERYTHING out of the drawers.  Wide-open all day long y'all!

So, we got great news at her 1 year check up....all is perfectly well!  Things were a little different this time at our doctor visit though....she was happy and doing great while we were in the waiting room....

But as soon as we hit the patient room she KNEW WHAT WAS UP and was unhappy for the rest of the visit.  :(  She was THAT KID that cried almost the entire time at the doctors office.  She was in the 75th percentile in height and weight and her poor head was in the 90's.  Good thing it isn't really that noticable, ha!...but mine is the same way.  She only gained about 2.5 pounds in 3 months so she is definitely slacking off in the weight area.  That makes her 22 pounds 12 oz and 30 3/4 inches long.

Here she is with big ole tears (you can't really see them) waiting for her shots.

Dr. Fraser cleared us to feed her almost any kind of table food we could think of (oops, already doing that doc).  We also talked to him about how much milk she actually needed a day (20 oz...shew that's a lot to get down her!!!) because as of last week I am no longer breastfeeding (and I don't want to talk about it *tear*)!

She got three shots and we got back at 15 months for shots only (no doctor) and at 18 months for a check-up.

We are so happy for a HEALTHY baby girl!!!
