Just BEACHy

We're finally getting back into the swing of things after a wonderful, fun, and relaxing (believe it or not) week at the beach.  Did I mention it was wonderful?!?!

We spent a week in Destin with Grandad, Grandma, Uncle Jamie, Aunt Nat and Jackson and we came home still loving eachother! ha!

Sydney was a HOT MESS the entire week.  Hard to believe, huh?  She played so hard all week.  When she got tired of one person she had 6 more to choose from so she was in heaven.

We started our days out with several hours at the pool and beach.  Mainly the pool.  She perched herself on the little ledge in the side of the pool and sometimes didn't move for SEVERAL minutes.  She was busy the whole time...pouring water from one buck into the other buckets.  Then she'd swim to the rope and play, bounce around in the float, ride on Grandad's back or swim around with one of us.  And do you know what the MOST awesome thing about all of this is??? We had SO much help with her that Corey and I actually got to lay out and read!  Who'd a thunk it?!?!  I told you it was wonderful.  I actually got to break out the new Kindle and I read "The Help" and loved it!

When the pool just wasn't quite cutting it, we'd venture down to the beach for some "sand-moving" (she poured sand from one bucket).  She also LOVED splashing around in the ocean with her Daddy.  I sat in my little beach chair with my feet barely in the water while they begged me to get in and play...don't think so!

All of this playing made us HUNGRY for a late lunch and then Sydney took a late and loooong afternoon nap every day.  And once again, we were lucky enough to have help during naptime most days so we could go outside and enjoy the sun! Aaahhh, what a life.

Our evening were spent overindulging ourselves with some good food.  And I've got to admit, we were lucky (as usual) and Sydney was on pretty good behavior during most of our meals!  Only a few times did she really act like her Daddy and act up at the dinner table! :)

I think Sydney and Jackson had the best time of all, just being together.  Sydney loved on that boy all week.  It was hillarious...she started calling him "Bubba" while we were there.  No idea why (we don't call him that) but it was too cute!

And before we knew it, the week was over and we were saying goodbye to the beach...until next year at least!

It was one awesome week with one awesome family.  We are so blessed!

Playtime with Juni

This past Sunday (7.31.11), Sydney got to meet her cousin Juniper for the first time.  Juni is 15 months older than Sydney and the most precious little thing in the world.  She lives in Washington so we NEVER get to see her. :(

They hit it off and stuck close to each other all afternoon.

A whole floor full of little "Burr" great grandbabies.

Juni even got to come spend the day with Sydney at Grandma's on Tuesday while I worked.  I was soooo glad that they finally got to meet and play with eachother.  They had a big time and we can't wait for Juni's next visit to Kentucky!

Mayfield Fun!

Two weekends ago (yes, I'm soooo behind) we had a weekend (7.22-24.11) full of fun in Mayfield at our BFF's - the Givens'.  They hosted the first of many (I hope) college reunuion weekends.  Now of course, I wasn't in college with them - probably grade school actually!  They like to pick on me about it but I keep reminding them that they'll need me to get them all around in their wheelchairs someday!

We piled in on them on Friday and didn't leave until Sunday.  Time seemed to fly by during the weekend...it usually does when you're having fun!  We got to visit with the Givens', Porter's, Kivett's & Hayes'....couldn't ask for any better company!

We spent most of our weekend by the pool - soakin up the sun and fun...and then spent the rest of it eating, drinking and laughing!  Sydney had an absolute BLAST playing with her kid friends Ryan, Carley, Clayton and Wesley!  It was a full 48 hours of excitement for this little girl!!

Thanks so much Corey & Debbie for opening your home to us!  You made our Disney Mayfield weekend THE BEST!  (haha! - only Debbie will get this)
And since pictures are worth 1,000 words....enjoy the snapshots from our weekend....
