10 months

Can she really be 10 months old?!?!?  I'm afraid so...sure is hard to believe though.

The thing that has stuck out the most this month to me (and anyone else around us, I'm sure) is the fact that Sydney is CONSTANTLY on the move. Seriously, she's only still if she's strapped in or asleep. No joke! I'm talking WILD INDIAN most of the time...WOW! She crawls around behind me everywhere I go all day long and when you pick her up she'll absolutely waller (is that a word??) you to death to see what's going on in every direction.  At church, rather than having her sit with us during the whole service, we've started taking her back to the nursery before the sermon starts because we're pretty sure she was distracting the entire congregation...or at least the people she was flirting with behind us!  FUN times, ya'll! I'm not complaining a bit though. I'm thankful that she's always HAPPY and wanting to enjoy every square inch of life. ha!

She's pulling up to everything these days...furniture, toys, our legs...it's awesome to watch!  She does a good job standing as long as she's got something to hold on to but she hasn't mastered the "no hands" yet!  I'm sure that'll be here before we're ready.  Along with her pulling up came the need to lower the matress on the baby bed AND put rail covers on there after we noticed little teeth marks...which she has 8 of now.  The better to gnaw on furniture with, my dear!  I think you would call that "adding character" to the furniture?!?  She has also mastered sitting up on her own even though really, she'd still just as soon roll around and play with her toys while she's laying on her back.

Speaking of baby bed, this chick is sleeping through the night probably 90% of the time.  WooHoo!  I must admit it's taking some getting used to on my part...I actually kind of miss our 3am feedings (snif, snif) but I know it was time for this to happen.

Not a whole lot has changed in the size department since last month....still in 12 month clothes but I think she'll be able to move into 18 month soon.  At least, that's what we're anticipating for Spring...which we are SOOO ready for!  I'm ready to get her outside and let her play off some of that ENERGY she has built up!

We've added another meal to her daily routine...LUNCH!  She eats food now rather than nursing at lunch time.  She's still a fabulous eater and loves her baby food AND any table food we put in front of her.  So now she eats 3 meals a day and then nurses 3 times a day.
She's slacking on new "tricks" this month.  I am thinking her only new one is waving her hands in the air, like she's cheering, whenever we say "yay...woohoo".  She likes it even better when Daddy does it.  She's also giving out lots more kisses these days...open mouth right to the face!

We've had some fun things going on this month....first we celebrated the arrival of her new baby cousin, Jackson Lain, on February 2nd...

then we celebrated Evie Alexander's 1st birthday on February 13th...

of course Valentines Day was the 14th...

and then we had a fun play date with Cecilia and her Mommy and Daddy on the 18th...

And those were just the highlights.  We've really been nonstop all month.  Even the snow didn't slow us down! :)

Sydney Diane, you make us SMILE so much we can't hardly stand it.  There's never a dull moment with you...I guess you're just preparing us for the rest of our lives, huh?  We love you so much more than you could ever know and want nothing but the best for you!  We love that you are such a happy and healthy baby girl!
Love Always, Daddy and Mama

these girls...

We had a fun Friday night with the Millers last night (2.18.11).  It's been several weeks since we've had the girls together so we wondered how they would interact!?!?

We started the night off @ Sol Az which I'm thinking was a mistake on a Friday night!  The 3 of us usually go there on Friday nights and WE KNOW it's always busy but last night I think it was EXTRA busy plus add 3 more to your party and it makes for a party alright!  We end up sitting at a booth with both girls in their highchairs at the end of the table...pretty much blocking the aisle and backed up to the table behind them.  And what do ya know....they both really think they're at a party and decide to yell out baby talk the entire night.  Yeah, both of them!  Before babies...I remember Grandad always getting so disgusted with parents who let their children yell out or cry in restaurants and that's all I could think of.  I was on the verge of a wreck!  Needless to say we ate quickly and didn't get a whole lot of visitng done.  And I was soooo planning on telling them it was Kacie's birthday (she turns 28 on Sunday!) but I decided not to even go there.  We were getting enough attention at our table already.  :)  She lucked out!!!

After we left we all headed out to our house so the girls could get down and dirty in the floor!  It was just too funny watching these two.  Sydney was WIDE OPEN as usual and Cecilia was sleepy and not used to Sydney's (hum, what should I call it) over eagerness to play.  Sure, that sounds good.  ha!  They did enjoy playing with all of the toys in the floor together and I think they could easily learn to love eachother as the playdates continue.

Kacie and I tried to catch up between "no ma'ams", diaper changes and being crawled all over by our clingy girls.  We made it work and enjoyed visiting, as did the Daddys.  Overall it was a great night of visiting and we wouldn't have had it any other way!!!

I heart this girl!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!  We have been celebrating ALL DAY...imagine that!

Corey and I are sooooo lucky to have the cutest little Valentine in the world this year.  :)

As soon as Sydney and I got up this morning we made red velvet cupcakes for part of Daddy and Grandad's Valentine presents.  Sydney sat in her highchair and "helped" throughout the entire process.  Then she just wanted to "taste the icing" on the final products!

Then we opened presents when Daddy came home.  Sydney got a new pair of John Deere pink ostrich boots, her very own Konow Farms hat (she loves her Daddy's hats) and a new outfit from us.  Of course, she loved the bag and paper more than the stuff.

Then we went to Aunt Nat's to visit Jackson and Grandma and Sydney once again came home with a bag full of goodies!  Uncle Jamie, Aunt Nat and Jackson got her a CA-YOOT! outfit from the Redbird and Grandad and Grandma got her a new spring outfit from Pistols, books, and big girl snacks!  What a spoiled little Valentine!

The tonight, Sydney got more treats from Uncle Chad, Aunt Valerie, Katelyn, Caleb and Jake.  Her favorite thing was the big red Valentine balloon.  She thought it was really cool!!!  And we can't forget our early Valentine present from them........it's a DARLIN' Valentine shirt with her name on it from the Redbird!  I'm seriously thinkin' Sydney keeps that store in business.

Thanks to all of you for making Sydney's 1st Valentines Day EXTRA special.  She loves you all sooooo much...and we do too!

what's up cuz?

The cousins FINALLY met Sunday night...they had 4 days of catching up to do!  No....as you can only imagine, they barely realized the other one was in the room until we showed Sydney "what" was in the bouncy seat.  We were trying to coach her about "loving on him" rather than swatting.  We'll keep working on that...

The most exciting part of her night was loving on her Aunt Nat Nat who she had been missing soooo bad.  I'm pretty sure the feeling was mutual, too!

Mamas favorite part of the night was getting to see this little guy again!  He gets sweeter every time I see him.  What a doll baby!!!

Grandma fixed supper for us all and we got to hang out, the guys watched some of the Superbowl (on silent, thank goodness!) and just enjoy eachother.

This is one of my favs....they're naturals, aren't they?  hehe!

And of course Sydney and Grandad had to get rowdy together so she was loving on him for playing with her. :)

Jackson is here HEY, HEY, HEY, HEY

The title is supposed to sound like the I've got a pickle song from the little rascals...did ya get it?  It's also supposed to show HOW EXCITED we are that baby Jackson is here.  Oh what a night it was last night for the Summers'!  Let me elaborate...I'll go ahead and share her whole "birth story" with ya cause it's a good one! :)

First of all his due date was not until the 16th of Februry so the waiting game was on, or so we thought!  Here's how Nat's day went yesterday...

9:30 Prenatal massage - I think Shelly is taking partial credit for his early arrival :)

10:30 Keep Sydney while I worked and mom did a lunch...from what I hear Sydney wouldn't sleep in her baby bed so Aunt Nat let her sleep on her stomach aka: Jackson to take a 2 hour nap.  She said she wouldn't have many more days to snuggle with her like that...boy was she right!  I thought that was the sweetest thing!

1:00 Nesting @ home....she's been getting some little projects around the house completed.  Impressive!!!

5:00 cryin, snottin, kickin, screamin (I'm exagerating...a little) BREAKDOWN cause she was READY TO HAVE THIS BABY!!!!! (had she only known this was gonna work she'd have done it way earlier I'm pretty sure)

5:30 off to church for supper and to teach TeamKids

5:45 HER WATER BROKE...AT CHURCH!  I mean really, that only happens in the movies, right??  Oh no, it happened to Aunt Nat.

So......after every person in the building got in a tizzy and turned about 15 circle we came up with a plan!  Dad takes her home in his van, Corey follows in her explorer, Mom teaches class for Nat and I get Sydney and myself home cause it's time to head to the hospital!!!  Nat and Jamie headed on.  Mom was a couple hours behind and I waited a while longer and put Sydney to bed, picked up Elizabeth and we headed down.  What we thought was going to be a LOOOONG night of waiting for a Thursday baby ended up being an unplanned C-section because he was breech.  I almost missed even getting to see her before she went back because (now get this) I WAS IN LINE AT WHITE CASTLE GETTING JAMIE A1 BURGERS.  Yes, I am screaming!  God love him.  ha!!!  I can laugh about it now but I sure wasn't last night.  I'm pretty sure I called him, the darn burgers, and perhaps meat in general several inappropriate things! hehe!!!
Pooka with the White Castle burgers.  He did eat them about 2 hours later. :)

Anyway, I made it in JUST IN TIME to make a mad dash to her room, switching armbands in the hallway with Mom because they had lost all but one (you have to have them to get to the rooms!).  Talk about a dramatic evening but nonetheless Mr. Jackson arrived before midnight!
After the delivery.

And what a precious little sight.  Get a look at this!!!!

Jackson Lain Summers

Jackson Lain Summers was born at 11:50pm on February 2, 2011.  He weighed 6 lbs 13.5 oz and was 18 inches long.  We FINALLY got to get our hands on this little thing around 4am this morning and oh, was it worth the wait!

Jackson & Aunt Jac...buds already!

The PROUD grandparents!  He's gonna LOVE them!!!

Congrats to the new Mommy and Daddy!!!  We love you 3!
