I had to wait a few days to do this because I could NOT have made it through it last week...but we're good now...Daddy and Mama have finally come to grips that they now have a one-year-old on their hands. The best part is that Sydney can now show everyone how old she is rather than us having to tell everyone...haha!
It's official for real now, we no longer have a baby on our hands but rather a happy, friendly, loving, constantly-moving little toddler...although she's not actually toddling YET! Other mommies keep telling me to "enjoy it while I can" but we're all anxious for those first few steps to come any day. For now we're having fun watching her crawl 90 mph. We practice walking and she does great as long as she's hanging on to somebody. She'll pull up to anything or anybody...but that's all for now.
She will literally talk to ANYBODY we see out. She tells them all hi and bye over and over. She has a knack for making anyone's day that she sees...it's precious! She's really started jabbering this week. It's hillarious to just sit and listen to her. It's kind of like this....dkrjeisrjei "mama" lskneorines "bye bye" kslijseiroe "hey" lkjsijerilsej "uh oh" lknoeiroes. We make out a few words amongst all of the jibberish! Soooo cute!
One of the best new things this month are her big ole HUGS! They are the BEST. She squeezes soo tight that she has to grunt. It'll just crack you up. She is all about giving kisses still too, and if you don't believe me just ask her for one the next time you see her...wide open mouth right to your face!
She is still an ELMO LOVER like crazy! We have towels, movies, books, figurines, cups...you name it, we've got it...all because it makes her LOL! That's enough of a reason, isn't it?!?! And Seasme Street is SERIOUSLY still just about the only thing she will watch on t.v. She's just too cool for all of the other stuff. She also likes any toy, game, book with music...if she's sitting down her feet automatically start twirling and if she's standing her booty automatically starts shaking. Love it!
Her sizes are still about the same as last month; 18 month clothes, 4 shoes and 3 diapers. We can't wait for it to get warm..I mean COME ON...this girl has got a closet full of summer clothes to wear!!!
She's still eating about the same too. Cereal in the morning and a big jar of baby food with a fruit at lunch and supper. We also throw in table food all along the way. Her favorite is probably cooked baby carrots, french fries, or any kind of noodles. She is down to nursing only once a day and I'm going to probably stop that any day now....I just keep putting it off "one more day" because it's the most special time in the world. So, instead of breastmilk throughout the day she's drinking cows milk like a big girl...of course, we had to get sippy cups with straws and she'll suck it down...kind of like she does her chocolate milkshakes. :)
She's had a couple of play dates this month and I think they are sooo good for her. She loves playing with Evie, Grayson and Cecilia. They are all 3 the sweetest little girls ever! Of course her favorite and most frequent play dates are with Cousin Jackson...she loves that kid with all of her heart!!! She just wants to squeeze him every time she sees him...and sometimes does, oops! ha!
She's done lots of visiting this month...she's played outside at Papoos with the family, stayed with Aunt Valerie a few times and spent lots of time at Grandma and Grandad's...she's a busy little chick and absolutely has a ball at all of these places. She loves ALL of her family SOOO much and they are ALL so willing to help us with her anytime we need it!! Only problem is, she usually doesn't want to come back home. haha!
Sydney, You are Daddy and Mama's little Sunshine and we are so thankful for the joy you bring to our lives every single day! It's so hard to believe that you've been with us for a whole year...man how time flies when you're having fun! We have never known LOVE quite like this until you! We were blessed WAY more than we deserved one year ago with a precious, healthy and beautiful baby girl and we instantly fell in love! A year later....our blessings continue to overflow each and every day with you in our lives. Happy Birthday Sis! You are SO loved by SO many!! XOXO
