Well, it happened...the baby celebrated her 1st Birthday on Thursday, April 21st. I was anxious over this day for at least a week prior (like the freaking out kind of anxious) but it came and went with a fairly minimal amount of tears shed on my part. (I'll do her normal "monthly" post next...this is just her actual b-day.)
We started her morning off with our monthly photo shoot with her birthday shirt on and then headed to McDonalds for a breakfast party with Daddy, Grandad, and Grandma. Sydney likes sharing her Daddy's pancakes at Cracker Barrell so I thought we would splurge and get her the "Big Breakfast" at McDonalds, complete with biscuit, sausage, eggs, pancakes and a hashbrown...needless to say, she ate 2 bites of pancakes and was DONE! Too much going on I guess?!?!
We spent the next 3 hours running down stuff for Daddy in Bowling Green and got back home just in time for a play date with sweet Grayson Bush and her mama, Meghann. Sydney and Grayson play GREAT together....Grayson is used to her big brother wallering all over her so Sydney doesn't bother her too much! :) Aunt Nat and Jackson were there too and they came in with GIANT Elmo balloons that somebody had a fit over!!! :)
When they left Sydney got a good nap to prepare for her mini birthday party complete with some of her favorites:

Chocolate...
Presents....
This gift was definitely a labor of love...haha!
and family...
What a fun day....and there was sooooo much more to come before the birthday festivities were over for the week!!!
